# Get document evaluation

> Retrieve the saved evaluation summary for the document's current draft.
Each request reflects the current evidence, so changing the draft can make
a previously available evaluation unavailable until that evidence is evaluated.

Returns 404 when no matching outcome is saved, including while an evaluation
is running. This endpoint does not start evaluations or report queue status.
Poll with a bounded timeout after POSTing to the evaluate endpoint; some
worker failures do not produce a saved outcome.
Evaluations are disabled for sensitive documents. Vanta AI and evidence
evaluation must be enabled for your organization, including to read saved
results. Saved evaluation failures and unmet evaluation preconditions return
a standard 422 error.
